The legendary band Deep Purple is back.

The band released a new single, “Throw My Bones,” which also featured a music video. The track is part of their new album titled Whoosh!, scheduled for release on June 12th.

The music video for the new track features an astronaut, in his recognizable suit, observing daily life while isolated from the world around him.

Regarding the new album, Whoosh !, the band's first since Infinite (2017), vocalist Ian Gillan justifies the title of the new project in a rather curious way.

Gillan says that the word "Woosh," an onomatopoeia, when observed through a radio telescope, describes the transient nature of humanity on Earth. And, on the other hand, when viewed more closely, it illustrates the career of Deep Purple. That's quite an imaginative title, isn't it? But that certainly only adds to the curiosity to hear the band's new album.
